APPLAUSE database

Archives of Photographic Plates for Astronomical USE

Start: Jan. 1, 2015

Status: completed

The APPLAUSE database is a collection of digitized photographic plates from the archives of the Hamburger Sternwarte, Dr. Karl Remeis-Sternwarte Bamberg, and Leibniz-Institut für Astrophysik Potsdam (AIP). Over a web portal, created with the Daiquiri framework, thousands of plate scans, together with scanned logbooks, pages and envelopes are available to the public. I developed the web application and implemented the storage backend.
